Latest Technology - Pomone II is the latest potato handling technology from Maf Roda and Tong Peal Engineering. Designed to both weight grade and quality sort individual tubers at high capacities Pomone II offers accuracy and flexibility to give added value to the crop as well as reducing labour.
Greater Efficiency - Reduces labour requirements to an absolute minimum by completely automating the sorting process.
High Capacity - Operating speed of up to ten tubers per second per lane. 2, 4, 6, and 8 lanes available. Sizing by weight on electronic load cells. Optical grading by diameter, volume and shape. Camera sorting by colour and surface defects.
Orphea - Pomone/Orphea allows for real time control of all batches passed over the machine with its data base being used for production control of the packhouse.
Gentle Handling - Designed to handle delicate crop without any drops on transfer points. Tubers are lowered onto foam-covered chutes as they exit the grader, so there is no bruising etc...
Maintenance - Automatic washing system for carrier hands, central chain lubrication, carrier hands are clipped onto the chain allowing easy and rapid removal and replacement, modem connectivity allows remote assistance and maintenance to computer and plc software.
Flexibility - Pomone II is designed to handle potatoes with a diameter from 45mm to 90mm. It will grade up to sixteen sizes, eight colour bands and four quality grades. All parameters are completely and freely adjustable, corresponding to any requirement. It self adjusts the singulator roller rotation and vee belt pre-aligner speeds according to the average size of the crop to ensure complete rotation and maximum capacity are achieved.
