Caretaker 2012 awarded Merit at LAMMA12
The UK’s leading designer and manufacturer of handling and sorting equipment for the potato and vegetable industries, was showing its new and improved, market leading grading machine, the Caretaker 2012, in the ‘Best Improvement to an existing product’ category at LAMMA 2012. On the award, Edward Tong, operations director at Tong Peal, commented: “We’ve been manufacturing handling and grading equipment since 1930. From our famous Tong potato sorters back in the early 1950s, we have continuously strived to provide the vegetable industry with the most advanced grading machinery to meet the demands of supermarkets and processors for sophisticated, efficient yet gentle handling equipment. “Our flagship mobile grader, the Caretaker was first manufactured in the late 1970s and has advanced through time to be today’s market leading grading machine. The latest model – the Caretaker 2012, has seen two significant improvements over the past 12 months, which offer even greater efficiency; user-friendly HMI control and the integration of Tong Peal’s new generation crop cleaning separator the EasyClean. “We are delighted to have achieved Merit status at the LAMMA awards, as these are judged by key players in the agricultural industry. A recommendation from them is a real honour.”
